Care Guide: How to care about your activewear

Care Guide: How to care about your activewear

As active women, we know that our workout garments demands unique care compared to our regular clothes. After all, the sweat-wicking, biodegradable materials and elastic fabrics that make up these pieces are subjected to different level of strain.

Refresh Right After Exercise

Just finished an intense session? Well done!  And let's get out of those sweaty clothes. Our fabulous, sweat-wicking workout gear does an awesome job during our exercise routines, but ideally they should breathe after the workout.

Washing Frequency: Less is More, safe water

Just because we're working out doesn't mean our clothes need a wash after every session. If you've enjoyed a gentle yoga class or a light workout, it's fine to wear your outfit a few times before washing. The key is to let the clothing air out between uses—this extends the life of the garment and safes water.

Inside Out is In!

Turn your clothes inside out before tossing them  into the machine. This allows water and detergent to effectively clean the fabric from sweat, skin cells, and bacteria.

Detergent Dilemma: Keep It Light

When washing your workout garments, remember that less is more. Too much detergent or fabric softener can trap bacteria and compromise the fabric elasticity, at the same time that  reduces the chemical load on the water systems.

Avoid softeners overall

Fabric softeners and activewear are incompatible due to the damage they can inflict on the fabric’s elastic fibres.

Caring in the Cold

Choose a cold water cycle! Not only is this gentler on your garments, preserving their elasticity and integrity, but it's also an energy-saving practice that aligns with our sustainability goals.

Never ever

If you love your items, under any circumstances bleach, tumble dry or  dry cleaning them.

In conclusion, caring for your activewear in a mindful and sustainable manner not only extends their lifespan but also reduces our collective impact on the environment.
